So even if MMS is the best program for you today, because they appear not to be actively developing it, you can not reasonably expect it to keep working for the next couple of years. Now, I happen to think FI is a better program, but I would have happily kept using MMS if it kept working, because I saw no reason to change. (The text is fuzzy in a way that will quickly give you a headache). e.g., the reason why I switched (to Fade In) was because I got a new Macbook Pro with a retina display, and MMS is broken on retina displays.

That means that sooner or later, a hardware or software update is going to break it.

I say this as someone who used the program happily for 5+ years, but the problem is that the program doesn't appear to be under active development anymore. Secondly, I don't know if I would recommend buying MMS, even if you solve this problem. The differences are small compared to their similarities. I mean, all these programs are essentially the same in their core functionality.

So it's either a function of the trial, or some weird thing specific to your computer.įirst, I'm a little surprised that you dislike FI and like MMS. I used MMS until last fall and never had this issue. Maybe Yosemite broke it? Maybe you need to do a permissions repair? I feel like there must be something I am doing wrong that I can't just hit the save button to save in MMSW.just like you can in Word, Final Draft, or Celtx.but I don't know what I am doing wrong and it's starting to drive me crazy. I've tried Final Draft, Fade In, and Celtx - all of which I dislike. There's no way I would put down money for this program if there isn't a way to one-click save and save on exit without renaming my document. MMSW Faq and user manual don't explain this either. Right now I can only save an in-progress script by using save as and renaming it - then saving it under that new name. I can't ask MMSW's support because support requires that you have license number. I am using the Trial of the software and I am considering purchasing MMSW, except it has this one HUGE issue. And save as will not let you overwrite an open document.but you can't save a document you don't have open.am I missing something or is this just a HUGE oversight on behalf of the developers? Whenever I click save I just get the exact same prompt as save as.

I cannot figure out how to save a work in progress without saving as.
